The Reichert AT 550 is a fully automatic Tonometer which automatically aligns to the patient’s eye and takes a reading. There is no video image of the patient’s eye just an alignment marker on an LCD screen. The patient is positioned for left or right eye measurement and sensors tell the instrument which eye is being measured. When the measurement button is pressed, the instrument automatically aligns and fires.
The AT 555 is very similar but has a moveable forehead rest which is positioned on one side or the other depending on the eye to be measured.
